ABA ARTHUR

  

...is a multi talented actor with a diverse and compelling body of work across stage and screen. She uses the arts as a platform for advocacy, cultural dialogue, and impact. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder, reflecting both her artistic rigor and civic consciousness.


Working fluidly across film, television, and theater, Aba’s career has been marked by standout appearances in major studio and prestige projects. She joined the cast of Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever, solidifying her position as a rising presence in film. She portrayed Abena in the film adaptation of The Color Purple and currently recurs as Samara in the Vince Vaughn led Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey.


On stage, Aba portrayed the title character JAJA in Jaja’s African Hair Braiding, anchoring the production as its central figure. She is also the creator and performer of the original one woman show Landing in Love. As her first solo stage work, it connected deeply with audiences through its intimacy and honesty.


Beyond her work as an actor, Aba is the founder of The Ohemaa Project, a production company dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices and championing culturally resonant storytelling. She serves as Vice Chair of the Dean’s Advisory Board at her alma mater, the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she actively supports and mentors students and alumni. She is also the newly appointed Diaspora Ambassador for Ghana’s National Film Festival, BSIFF (Black Star International Film Festival), further expanding her commitment to global Black cinema and international collaboration.


With the support and admiration of influential figures such as Oprah Winfrey, Aba Arthur continues to emerge as a trailblazer in storytelling. Through her work, she bridges artistry, leadership, and cultural impact with a clear commitment to excellence and purpose driven work in the arts.
